What is this zoom thing?
We are using this zoom app thing to keep in touch with each other while we are staying in our own homes. Zoom is free video/audio conference software which can run on just about any device. The cool thing about zoom is it is so simple, instructions are not needed. Just click on the ‘Join Meeting with Zoom App’ and watch it work itself out.
Just keep coming back to this page and the meetings will be available. After you first join you won’t have to install anything else.
What does it look like?
Of course I am not talking about what the app looks like. I’m talking about what does a zoom meetup look like for us? For example is there a dress code? Let me be very clear on this CLOTHES ARE A MUST! Ok with that out of the way, the honest truth is that we don’t really know what it will look like. It is a new thing for LIVE Church. I do know that every day at 9.30am I will be here and anyone can join. I’ll be here with my coffee.
A ‘resources’ page has been created, so if you find any great podcast or song or video or thought then join the meeting any day at 9.30 and let me know and I can make it available for all on our resources page.
On a personal note I would like to be able to use the daily meetup as a way of keeping in contact with others in isolation to try and brighten the day up and let people know they are not alone. Share things which they have found useful. For example, I learnt how to do a awesome new curry… if I say so myself.
Aside from the daily meetup, we will all be gathering Sunday at 9.30am I suspect that will be a little but more organised.
Even though we are not meeting in person at this time. The purposes of LIVE Church continue. We still strive to overcome isolation – ignorance and indifference in our society. So what ever this ‘zoom meetup’ thing looks like it will be shaped by those purposes.
